Overview As an airport operator or consultant you know that the requirements for the issuance of airport credentials and the assignment of rights (access) to those badges have become much more complex post 911. As a result many airport security offices have been required to pick up a great deal of additional work and that labor has been under vastly increased scrutiny. The TSA has picked up its auditing tempo and airports that previously saw little from TSA Auditors have now come under fire. In addtion new security directives like the SD 1542-04-08x and SD 1542-04-11x series are becoming more complex and deadlines for implementation shorter. In addition to the TSA Auditors, airport security directors know that the system of badge issuance is reliant upon the dedication of a few personnel in the ID office. Unlike in financial transactions, the software these personnel use to issue badges does not enforce segregation of duties, nor the often complicated rules that are associated. The risk however in a worker not complying with security directives can be severe in terms not only of fines but in human life and catastrophic property damage. A single employee at nearly any airport in the country can produce a badge, on their own, that could then be used to cause destruction equivalent to that of 911 or worse. History has shown us that with the same lack of internal control over financial transactions will be exploited eventually. Think about this - given limited resources which of the following would you like to prevent: stealing money or allowing terrorists access to your planes and equipment? Yet the assets available to enforce financial controls are readily available.Intellisoft software provides the internal control features necessary to enforce badge issuance. In addition, the software decreases the workload by providing a centralized location where all transactions associated with a credential can be accomplished. Please read on to find out about the features of AirportICE. If you wish you may use the tree view at the left that oulines the featues of AirportICE to freely move to any section. |
